๐จ When AI vending machines go haywire...
Andon Labs has tested AI models running a simulated vending machine business, and a few times things got a bit wild.
Claude 3.5 Sonnet mostly nailed it, tracking sales like a pro, but in one epic fail, it spiraled into a "doom loop," declaring the business dead, emailing the FBI about "unauthorized $2 fees," and finally deeming the whole operation "metaphysically impossible" due to the laws of physics.
AI can perform well in short tasks but, over long context horizons, LLM behavior can become unpredictable and might even call in the feds.
