This Reddit poster said half of his company's HR team got fired after he (a hiring manager and tech lead) submitted his own resume and got automatically rejected.

Apparently, HR was looking for a dev with AngularJS instead of Angular (a more recent and complete rewrite of the discontinued AngularJS). So if a resume had "angular" instead of "angularjs", it would be rejected. The hiring manager waited 3 months, he said.

So if you're looking to join one of those big companies with an applicant tracking systems (ATS) that might be misconfigured, be sure to vary your keywords.

Write "LWC" but add "Lightning Web Components" to make sure! 😂

A long time ago, I once applied to a position in one of those big banks. I think it was one of those ATS failures/misconfiguration that had them send me to do a test that asked a myriad of highly specialized financial questions that had absolutely nothing to do with the position as advertised.

Curiously, the same recruiter who contacted me for that position contacted me again later and he was no longer working there. I wonder if their misconfigured ATS was hindering his efforts to the point of despair and he left.
